At the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), we understand how important it is to put people first and provide high quality services that meet the needs of all taxpayers and benefit recipients. As the world changes with new technologies and evolving trends, we know there’s always room for improvement, and that’s where you come in. Your insights will play a vital role in helping us shape the services that support people in managing their tax obligations and accessing the benefits and credits they may be eligible for.

This fall, we’re launching the CRA service consultations 2024 to hear from individuals, non-professional representatives, and tax intermediaries on their experiences interacting with CRA services and to share their experience with our services to drive ideas for improvements. Whether you’ve interacted with us as an individual managing your own tax and benefit affairs, a non-professional representative helping a family member or friend, or a tax intermediary providing professional support to individuals or businesses, we want to hear from you. Your feedback will help us better understand what we’re doing well, where we can improve, and how we can better support you or your clients.

About the consultations

From September 25 to December 2, 2024, individuals, non-professional representatives, and tax intermediaries will have the opportunity to provide feedback through an online questionnaire.

  • Participate in the online questionnaire to share your service experience and drive ideas for improvements.

For more in-depth discussions, the CRA will also hold both in-person and virtual consultation sessions with members of these groups by invitation. To ensure privacy, neutrality and a wide range of perspectives from across the country, the consultation sessions, invitations, accommodations, and reporting will be managed by an independent third party.

How your feedback shapes the future of CRA services

While we’ve made significant improvements based on feedback from previous service consultations, such as introducing digital applications for the Disability Tax Credit, expanding access to free tax-filing support for vulnerable populations, and improving secure access to sign-in services, there’s more work to be done.

By participating, or encouraging others to participate, you will play a key role in helping us understand the challenges you or your clients face to shape services that are more responsive, efficient, and client-focused.
